A Monaghan councillor says the council and Irish Water are failing residents
of two local housing estates

Fianna Fáil's Seamus Coyle says the residents of Alders Housing Estate on
the Clones Road, and Carrabarra Island Housing Estate in Smithborough are
experiencing on-going problems with sewage and have been let down.

Members of the executive told the recent Ballybay Clones MD meeting that the
planning section had been engaging with Irish Water, who then changed their
position on the matter and stalled the process.

The works to the estates will cost significant capital spending, but the
council hope to have an outcome early next year.

Councillor Coyle received support for his motion asking for the expedition
of site resolution plans :
