There are 535 staff employed in Monaghan County Council.
That's according to figures released in response to a question put forward by Councillor Paul Gibbons.
He asked the council for the total number of staff employed under Monaghan County Council be provided along with the number of employees with a disability.
In addition, he asked for an overview of internal policy and legislative requirements in relation to employing people with a disability.
As of the 31st December 2025, 535 staff were recorded, 44 of these are recorded as having a disability.
The council outlined it's Disability Employment Policy and Legislative Requirements and noted that it is committed to fostering a culture of equality, including actively supporting the employment of people with disabilities.
The Council's recruitment and selection processes fully comply with the Employment Equality Acts 1998-2015 and the Disability Act 2005, which prohibit discrimination on nine grounds, including disability.
