A Monaghan County Councillor has asked for a road safety assessment on a busy section.
Paul Gibbons raised concerns about the Churchill Road at Tullyharnett.
He noted that the Churchill Road, Oram from Frankfort Bridge to the border is very busy with many people walking, running and increasing vehicular traffic.
The Cathaoirleach of the Carrickmacross - Castleblayney Municipal District asked for this to be assessed from a road safety and speeding perspective, and any safety measures be implemented.
In response he was told that the executive will investigate the feasibility of a road safety assessment, incorporating speed and traffic surveys at the location.
Speaking to Northern sound he outlined the safety issues.
