Monaghan lotto player scoops €300,000

A Monaghan scratch card player is celebrating a €300,000 win after scooping the top prize on a €15 Lotto game.

The winning scratch card holder was left in “total shock” after purchasing the winning ticket at Cassidy’s XL store on the Dundalk Road in Carrickmacross. The winner initially though they had won €30,000, but in fact there was an extra zero on the end of the life changing amount. Anita Cassidy, who owns the shop and service station with her husband Shane, said the entire team were delighted to hear the news, adding this was the biggest prize that they have ever sold.
