Monaghan man in search of love on 'Grá ar an Trá'

The show hasn't even aired yet and the connections I've made have made my life so much richer.

Carrickmacross native, Andrew Jackson, is a contestant on Virgin Media Television's brand-new Irish dating show 'Grá ar an Trá', which aired last night at 9pm on the One Channel. 'Grá ar an Trá' sees Gráinne Seoige, James Kavanagh and Síomha Ní Ruairc run the rule over 10 singletons as they head to the Gaeltacht, brushing up on their cúpla focal while also looking for love.

The Monaghan man says he never considered applying for the show until his friend text and said he was "made" for it.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Andrew pointed to his own 'Grá' for the Irish language the rich experience it provided him with. He added that while he can't give away too much on his luck in love during the show, the experiece overall was "very natural" for him.

"I had a ball; it was one of the best experiences of my life," continued Andrew. "The friendships I got from it. I'd be very close with Senny who you would have seen last night and I'm now in a band with his sister, Roisin, and she's from Dundalk.

"We are playing Whealan's Big Room on the 25th of October and I have done a gig in London with her as well. So, it things like that, the connections; the show hasn't even aired yet and the connections I've made have made my life so much richer."
