PJ Fitzsimmons and his family have received support from Embrace FARM since the incident.

A Co Monaghan farmer who lost his father in a farming accident has encouraged people working in the sector to "take their time and ask for help".

Peter Fitzsimons received a fatal injury when he fell from the roof of a shed in a tragic accident in August of last year.

His son, Inniskeen farmer PJ Fitzsimons, administered CPR and praised the work of paramedics who quickly arrived on the scheme, but they were unable to save his father.

Embrace FARM, the farm accident support network, will host its eight annual Remembrance Service online this Sunday, June 27th, at 2 pm.

The organisation is encouraging families to submit the names of loved ones who were lost in farm accidents to be remembered at the service.

Speaking to this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, PJ explained the support that Embrace Farm was able to provide his family following the accident:
