Monaghan native believes married couples are financially discriminated against by State

A Monaghan native says he feels married couples are being negatively discriminated against by the State.

Denis O'Higgins says he feels a living together allowance should be introduced.

It comes as further measures are being rolled out from Budget 2023 to help people with the cost of living crisis.

He believes local Minister Heather Humphreys should be introducing payments to allow married couples to have a more balanced financial assistance from the state like their non-married counterparts.
