A Monaghan publican says they aren’t “giving up the fight” by moving to serve food in wet pubs.

Pubs that don’t serve meals haven’t been allowed to reopen yet, with the Tanaiste saying there’s no guarantee they’ll be open this year.

Raymond Aughey owns The Squealing Pig in Monaghan town and is the Chair of Monaghan Vintners.

It’s been six months since some “wet pubs” have opened.

He told Northern Sound that many local pubs are considering offering meals until they can return to normal.
