Gardai have admitted they are no closer to solving the case of missing Kyran Durnin.
The child, who would now be 9 years old, was officially reported missing one year ago tomorrow.
In a statement to mark the first anniversary since Kyran Durnin's disappearance being made public, Gardaí said they have been “unable to locate Kyran or determine what has happened to him”.
This is despite a huge investigation which involved 570 separate actions.
In the past twelve months, a number of properties have been searched, while almost 30,000 hours of CCTV footage was examined and a number of phones and laptops were seized and analysed.
Gardaí believe that Kyran is dead and that some people know where he is buried, but will not reveal the location.
Meanwhile investigators say it is not too late for witnesses to come forward with significant information.
