Ballyconnell Community Centre is launching a new 'Grassroots Ballyconnell' programme which will benefit people from both sides of the border. The launch will take place in Ballyconnell Community Centre later this evening at 7pm.
Funded by the International Fund for Ireland, the aim of the project is to re-establish the community centre, build community spirit and bring communities together regardless of age, faith or ethnicity. Laura Brady is the Ballyconnell Community Centre Coordinator.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Laura says the programme is providing a whole suite of new and exciting activities for people; "Tonight we are launching the IFI Grassroots Ballyconnell, it's an initiative supported by International Fund for Ireland. There was an application put in with the community centre committee over a year ago so tonight I will be speaking about what's been happening so far with our new community centre mainly as the hub for the area and about future plans and projects."
