The HSE has confirmed they will deliver a new day services centre for County Cavan.
Used by school leavers and young adults with additional needs, the current facility is out-dated according to Deputy Brendan Smith. The HSE has also confirmed the new centre will be based in Cavan Town and serve the entire county.
Deputy Smith says he has received correspondence from the HSE to say the Cavan and Monaghan Disability Services team completed a comprehensive submission for capital funding for the new centre in recent days. The local TD says Cavan Monaghan Disability Services are actively working with colleagues in the HSE Estates North East Department to deliver a facility either through a capital build or by lease agreement.
