The Board of Management of Loreto College Cavan has announced the appointment of Mr John Galligan as the new Principal of Loreto College Cavan.
A native of Kilnavara, Cavan, John received his secondary education at St. Patrick's College in Cavan.
He went on to earn a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of East London, followed by a Higher Diploma in Education from UCD.
He also holds a Master's in Science Education from the University of Manchester and a Master's in School Leadership from NUI Maynooth. John began his teaching career in 2002 and has held a range of leadership roles over the past two decades.
He has taught at the Royal School Cavan, serving as Acting Deputy Principal from 2017 to 2019, and, more recently, he has served as Deputy Principal and Acting Principal at Wilson's Hospital School. Now living in Ballyhaise with his wife and their three children, John brings to Loreto College Cavan a wealth of experience, a strong focus on student wellbeing, and a clear passion for fostering a positive, inclusive, and forward-looking school environment.
