A finger-prick blood test could help diagnose Alzheimer’s disease before symptoms even appear.
It’s being trialled and works by picking up three proteins known to be associated with the disease.
If it works, it could replace the current invasive and expensive ways of diagnosing Alzheimer’s.
Dr Sam Barrell is chief executive of LifeArc, which has launched the trial:
Dr. Barrell said: "If we can pick up those potentially at risk, with a very cheap, low cost test, that we can use in community settings around the world, then we can get people into the right trials with the right treatments earlier."
