A local councillor has asked if there are plans to upgrade visibility in Carrickmacross.
The issue was raised by Councillor Colm Carthy at the most recent meeting of Carrickmackross/ Castleblayney Muncipal District.
Cllr Carthy noted the success of the replacement of the light-heads to the Main Street Lighting in Carrickmacross, something he had long been looking for.
He noted that they are delighted with the change, but it highlights deficiencies in other areas.
In response the executive noted that there is currently no plan for a review of public lighting along other streets in the town.
It noted that reported areas of concern will be included for consideration under the MDs 2026 lighting programme.
Speaking to Northern Sound Cllr Carthy outlined the issue.
