Nominations close at the end of this week for the 2025 County Monaghan Volunteer Awards.
Now in its 18th year, the County Monaghan Volunteer Awards celebrate the outstanding contributions of volunteers and voluntary organisations across the county.
The 2025 awards will include four categories: Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Volunteer Group of the Year and Volunteer Team of the Year.
The winners of the 2025 awards will be announced at a special ceremony on Sunday, 12 October at the Íontas Theatre in Castleblayney. All nominees will be invited to attend, and their contributions will be recognised on the night.
Since the awards began in 2007, they have honoured volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors, including sports clubs, heritage groups, disability services, youth programmes, older people’s initiatives, and many more.
Sinead Keenan, Coordinator of the Monaghan Volunteer Centre says these people who are nominated are an inspiration.
