Irish Water confirmed that late yesterday, there was a burst on the Shercock Road in the town.

Normal water supply is returning to homes in Castleblayney after a burst pipe last night.

Irish Water confirmed that late yesterday, there was a burst on the Shercock Road in the town.

It has since been repaired and the network is refilling this morning.

Operations Manager with Irish Water Kevin Smith said it can take up to three hours for normal service to return, and some time longer in higher areas.
