NPHET meet this morning to discuss the spread of Covid-19, which has been desbribed as "troubling".

Chief medical officer Tony Holohan says the country is in a 'precarious situation' as the virus is going in the 'wrong direction'.

It's after 431 new cases were confirmed last night, as well as six more deaths.

More restrictions are due to be lifted tomorrow, allowing people travel anywhere in Ireland, and three households to meet.

Yesterday Cavan had the third highest share of cases, behind Dublin and Donegal, with 25 confirmed cases.

This saw their incidence rate rise to 147, meaning the county now has the 5th highest rate in the country.

Monaghan is only slightly behind with the 7th highest incidence rate nationwide at 136.8 after 7 cases were confirmed yesterday.
