There have been calls in Cavan for a public consultation on litter.
A number of members of the community in Virginia have told local representatives that they feel disconnected from local politics and the ability to air their concerns with regards to dumping and litter.
The executive told members that when there is a fly tipping incident anywhere in the county they lose two to three crews clearing it.

Local councillor TP O'Reilly says people in Virginia want an avenue established to have their suggestions to tackling the issue heard.
