Over 13,000 people across region to receive extra four weeks' of fuel allowance

Over 13,000 people across Cavan and Monaghan will receive 4 extra weeks of the Fuel Allowance.
The extension of the weekly payment of €38 was announced last week by the government in response to rising fuel prices.
The payment will now be paid up to the 1st of May to 7,791 households in Cavan and 5,413 households in Monaghan.

There are over 30,000 fuel allowance recipients in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The figures of the number receiving the payment were confirmed in the Dail last week.
