Over 400 fines for illegal disabled bay parking issued locally

Over 400 fines have been issued against drivers who illegally parked in disabled bays in the past two years in the Cavan-Monaghan area.

According to the Department of Justice, 294 fines were issued in the Louth/Cavan/Monaghan area last year.

Up to June 27th this year, 137 penalty notices have been handed out.

The fine for parking in a disabled bay without a permit is €150.

This increases to €225 if not paid within 28 days.
