Over 500 vehicles have been seized from unaccompanied learner drivers since 2023 in the Northern Sound region.
According to figures provided by the Justice Minister, Jim O'Callaghan, 98 vehicles have been seized up to June 4th this year.
Last year 240 vehicles were taken from learners driving without a qualified driver alongside them.

This was an increase on the 2023 figure of 166.
Nationally, there was a marked increase in seizures between 2023 and 2024.
In 2023, 5,046 vehicles were seized, increasing to 6,483 last year.
