Over €200,000 in rent paid for Cavan RDF building

The Government have spent over €200,000 on rent for the Cavan Reserve Defence Forces base.

The figures are contained in a parliamentary question by Social Democrats TD, Holly Cairns. According to the Tánaiste Simon Harris, the Department of Defence has held a tenancy in Cavan for the RDF for 13 years. €211,560 has been spent on renting the Cavan building since 2015.

The D.O.D rent a total of 5 buildings for the RDF according to the figures with close to €700,000 in rent paid since 2015
