A new Park and Share/Ride facility is planned for Dundalk Road in Carrickmacross, with €300,000 in Transport Infrastructure Ireland funding allocated for 2026.
The project aims to deliver a safe bus stop on the south-east side of the N2.
Plans also include a parking area with space for at least 40 cars.

Electric vehicle charging points and sheltered bicycle parking will form part of the development.
The scheme is designed to improve commuter options and support more sustainable travel.
A preliminary design has already been approved by TII under the F&O Report stage.
