A peaceful protest is planned in Castleblayney later this evening.
The protest is being called following concerns highlighted locally in relation to alleged plans for an IPAS centre.
It was being reported locally that the convent in the town would be used to house International Protection applicants.
Despite this, the Department of Justice confirmed this afternoon that the International Protection Accommodation Service has received no offer of accommodation in respect of Convent Building, Castleblaney, and the Department is not examining the property for use.
