A planning application has been lodged for the construction of a tourist campsite in County Cavan.
The facility would be constructed at Tonagh, Lough Sheelin and will include two permanent buildings, while yurts and tents would be seasonal fixtures that are removed during the off-season.
The campsite would include vehicle access from an existing laneway, parking area for cars and camper vans, and the formation of a floating marina with disabled access.

The applicant adds that the development would "fill a void in the market" for "family orientated" low cost self-catering options.
