A review into pothole repairs is underway, focusing on current practices and how effective they are on local roads.
The plan was heard at the most recent meeting of the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney Municipal District meeting.
Officials will be assessing the current practice, quality of repairs and examining the methods used to fix road damage.
Some of the methods of repair that will be reviewed are the Velocity Patcher, delay-set materials, and traditional hot mix options.
The study will also consider the timing of repairs and potential for an annual repair programme.
A key part of the review will be a one-week trial of the Pothole PRO system, which is set to take place across three municipal districts in May of this year.
Findings are expected to guide future strategies aimed at delivering longer-lasting road repairs.
