Pig and poultry farmers will stage a protest outside Tesco in Cavan town tomorrow (Tuesday) in an effort to highlight the price unfairness in the retail sector.
Frank Brady told Northern Sound that farmers also want an increase of 15c per chicken and an additional 2c on an egg so they can meet the financial demands of increased costs in feed and fertiliser.
“The price of feed has gone through the roof,” Mr Brady explained.
“We are holding this protest tomorrow to highlight our plight; there are going to be a lot of farmers there.”
Proceedings kick off at 11am.
