The progress on housing delivery and regeneration in Monaghan was highlighted to the Minister John Cummins.
The Junior Minister at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage visited the region yesterday to hear about future plans for housing.
Minister Cummins made a site visit to the council’s housing development at Sli Na Coille in Monaghan town.
This development which is under construction will see the delivery of 21 new homes, comprising 16 No. 2-bed and 5 No. 3-bed houses that will provide much-needed homes for people on the council’s social housing list.
The development is being completed under a design and build form of contract by GEDA Construction on behalf of the Council. Works commenced in December 2024 and It is envisaged that the development will be completed in two phases, with the first 9 homes completed by September 2025 and the remaining 12 homes handed over to the Council by the end of this year.
