Clones Gardai is hosting a Property Marking event this afternoon from 12pm to 3pm.
Any item with a flat surface can be marked, big or small; those attending just need their Eircode.
Local Gardai will be at the back of the Gerry Arthur stand/car park area at St Tiernach's Park GAA pitch.

Given the increase in thefts in the area, Gardai are encouraging farmers and business owners to participate in the event. They say marking property reduces the risk of theft and also helps to identify owners of property that is stolen.
Gardai added that the effort acts as a "deterrent" to criminals.
