'The Failte Ireland Destination and Experience Development Plan is a five year tourism plan designed to grow Ireland's Hidden Heartlands region'

Failte Ireland, in partnership with a range of local stakeholders, is developing a Destination & Experience Development Plan (DEDP) for the Upper Shannon, Shannon Erne and Border area. The event will take place on Wednesday, 15th March at 7pm in the Slieve Russell Hotel Ballyconnell.

Community groups, businesses, local organisations, and interested individuals are invited to come hear about this five-year tourism destination plan for Cavan, Leitrim and North Roscommon as part of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and to share views on tourism in the region.

Joanne Hayes, Cavan County Council Tourism Development Officer says that regenerative and sustainable tourism can have major benefits for both communities and visitors. "They already hosted a consultation evening in Bailieborough last Thursday night," explained Joanne.
