Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has issued an apology to victims.

according to Sinn Fein.

It's calling for the Garda Commissioner to appear before the Oireachtas Justice Committee over the handling of calls from victims of domestic violence.

More than 600 emergency calls made in a 22-month period did not receive an appropriate response from Gardai.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has apologised to victims and says an inquiry has been established.
