It's been confirmed that the Alzheimer's Society has resumed Dementia Specific Day Services in Cavan and Social Day Services will reopen towards the end of May.
The confirmation came from the HSE in a letter to Cavan/Monaghan TD Brendan Smith, following his ongoing representations that Day Services in Cavan Town will resume in the coming weeks.
The local TD says he welcomes the return of services to the Day Care Centre which is adjacent to the John Sullivan Centre.
This follows on from the completion of upgrading works. Essential repairs were carried out to the roof and also a full upgrade of the interior of the building.
Deputy Smith added that he knows that such services are highly valued by our older citizens with a wide range of social activities and is an important social and recreational outlet for many people.
