Record breaking crowds attended the annual Moylagh JFK 50 Mile Challenge that took place over the weekend.
The rain didn't dappen the spirits of the hundreds that took part in this popular annual event that sees people from all over the country taking part.
The 14th annual fundraising event began at the Moylagh Community Centre at 6am and continued to the early hours of Sunday morning to see the last of the people partaking crossing the finish line.
The walk takes in three counties, Cavan. Meath and Westmeath over 50 miles in an effort to raise funds for the Irish Cancer Society, LARCC and Palliative Care. To date, it has raised just shy of €1.4 million. This year, the goal of this year is to raise €136,000 to reach a milestone total of €1.5 million.
Chairperson of the challenge, Johnny Guirke has thanked the local community for their continued and unwavering support and has said that every step makes a difference in the fight against cancer. He believes they will now reach the €1.5 million milestone after the weekends event.
This local woman says its an opportunity to give back to cancer services in the area.
Conor Madden has taken part in the annual walk for the last three years, he says it's an unique event that he looks forward to every year.
