A status red weather warning for wind has been issued for Cavan and Monaghan.
The warning is valid from 6am Friday morning until 12pm Friday.
According to Met Éireann, Storm Éowyn poses a danger to life, bringing dangerous travelling conditions and the possibility of fallen trees and powerlines.
