A local councillor says the reduction in operating hours at a Co Cavan cannot be allowed to happen.
It's been announced that the Ballyconnell Garda Station has new opening hours as of yesterday morning which will see the station operating from 7am until 9am and 6pm to 8pm. each day.
The opening hours previous to this was 9am to 9pm.

Councillor Peter McVtty says this news has come as a complete shock to him and other members of the community, He says this is something that he completely apposes and he says no consultation or notice was issued to people living in the area. Cllr McVitty says that he wants to see the decision reversed.
