Trusted Irish Weather Channel forecaster Cathal Nolan says The Northern Sound / Shannonside region may be one of the worst affected during Storm Darragh. The weather-watcher was on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier to explain what to expect and he said this region "has one of the highest chances of seeing the most significant conditions as a result of Storm Darragh tonight."
The reason, he said, was because the storm will approach the country from the north-west directions so, winds will have less land to travel before it will have a direct impact on the Northern Sound counties. He also said he would not be surprised if the border counties, midlands and west region is upgraded to a status red weather warning.
