A local councillor has sought an update on the road safety works for the Ballybay Road, Carrickmacross.
Cllr Colm Carthy raised the issue at the most recent meeting of the Carrickmacross - Castleblayney Municipal District.
He was referring specifically to a section of the Ballybay Road which is adjacent to Emmet Park and Gleann Droimnin, it also accesses the Emmet Park GAA grounds.
In response he was informed that there is currently no funding available to progress the design and implementation of these road safety measures.
The executive noted that all potential sources of funding will be explored to progress the scheme.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Carthy said he and his colleagues are united in pushing to get safety measures implemented.
