Roslea Road in Clones reopens after fatal collision

Gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has camera footage to contact Monaghan Garda Station.

The Roslea Road in Clones has reopened following a fatal collision.

A woman in her 50s died in the single vehicle collision in the early hours of this morning.

The crash happened at around 5am in the townland of Largy on the Roslea Road out of Clones in Monaghan.

A woman in her 50s who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while a women in her 30s, and two men their 20s were brought to Cavan General Hospital.

Their injuries are understood to have not been life threatening.

The road was closed to allow for a forensic examination of the scene to be carried out, and reopened just after 5pm.

Gardai are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has camera footage from the area between 4am and 5am to contact Monaghan Garda Station.
