Over 450,000 euro is to be allocated to farmers in the Northern Sound region under the Sheep Welfare Scheme.
The Minister for Agriculture, Martin Heydon confirmed the details.
Applications for the 2025 National Sheep Welfare Scheme, which is a one-year scheme, opened in March and closed for applications in May.
307 farmers are to share 320,000 thousand euro in Roscommon, while just under 150,000 is on the way to 135 Leitrim farmers.
Overall over €16 million in payments under the 2025 National Sheep Welfare Scheme have commenced issuing to farmers across the country.
