Significant damage has been caused to a filling station in County Monaghan early this morning.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 50s, in relation to an incident of criminal damage at a retail premises in Cloughvalley Upper, Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan at approximately 5:20am today.
Significant damage was caused to the foreground and the exterior of the premises in the course of this incident.

The man arrested is currently detained in Carrickmacross Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Northern Sound understands that the popular service station in the town will not be opening today after the early morning incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
