As the IFA protest outside Bord Bia enters its fifth day, Poultry Chair Brendan Soden has called on the Chair of Bord Bia Larry Murrin to confirm if his companies import Brazilian chicken.
The Co. Cavan farmer has called on Mr. Murrin to clarify the situation for Irish poultry farmers.
He believes that poultry farmers in Brazil have little or no regulations compared to the EU.
Mr. Soden claimed that the same applies to Thailand and other countries from where chicken is being imported.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr. Soden said that Mr. Murrin is "kicking points for the opposition."
Mr. Soden said: "We have Mr. Murrin there as the CEO of the Irish food board that promotes Irish food around the world. His company is importing from outside the EU, and has openly admitted to that.
"He's basically supposed to be playing for our team, but is kicking points for the opposition here.
"He's there to represent us on the global stage, and Irish food on the global stage. If the company that he is CEO of is importing Brazilian beef, we have a serious question of what's right and wrong.
"I've spoken to a lot of farmers, and people from outside farming, over the last week who have been following the story. They can't believe this, it is a question of morality here," Mr. Soden added.
