Status yellow rain warning issued for Cavan and Monaghan

Met Eireann is warning of thundery downpours, which could lead to flooding.

A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Cavan and Monaghan.

Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Meath will be under the warning  that takes affect from 4am tomorrow until midnight.

A 26-hour status orange rain warning will be in place for Cork, Kerry, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford from 10 pm tonight.

Met Eireann says the five counties can expect disruption.

A similar status yellow alert will run in Carlow, Kilkenny and Tipperary from 10pm for 24 hours.

Linda Hughes, a forecaster with Met Eireann, says bad weather is in store.
