School students in the Northern Sound region have been encouraged to showcase their photography skills for this year's Cavan-Monaghan Science Festival.
The "local garden birds" competition is open to Primary and Secondary students, and three photos per person, in either colour or black and white, will be accepted.
There will be prizes for first, second, and third place, with the winners being announced during the Cavan Monaghan Science Festival taking place from the 6th to the 12th of November.

Entries should be sent to [email protected] by Thursday, October 21st, and include a description of the photo, as well as the applicant's name, age, class, and school.
