Emmanuel Macron has become the first French President in two decades to be re-elected.
He saw off a challenge by far-right candidate Marine Le Pen to win the second-term.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has congratulated the French president on his "decisive win".
The Taoiseach says he is looking forward to working closely with him in the coming years.
Meanwhile, Macron has promised to leave nobody by the wayside, acknowledging 'divisions' and 'doubt' within his country.
Ms Le Pen is still calling the results a 'victory'.
There were some signs of that division even during his victory speech in Paris - when his opponent's name was met with jeers from the crowd.
