TB issues to continue in Cavan and Monaghan until Department finds solution for wildlife

The Department of Agriculture's recent annual report showed the disease is at its highest level since 2009.

TB will continue to be a problem in Cavan and Monaghan until a solution is found to deal with infected wildlife.

Speaking after attending local AGMs in the region, the IFA President told Shannonside Northern Sound that nothing will change until there's a meaningful debate on finding solutions on how bovine TB spreads.

The Department of Agriculture's recent annual report showed the disease is at its highest level since 2009, with there being a particular concern in Monaghan, Cavan, north Meath and Louth.

Tim Cullinan says farmers can only do so much by themselves.
