A local representative has highlighted a big opportunity for formers, co-ops, and agri-businesses in Cavan and Monaghan.
Minister of State Niamh Smyth has highlighted the PRIMARY project, which is funded by the European Union.
In a post on social media, Minister of State Smyth outlined an open call offering €900,000 in funding for innovative partnerships that work on sustainable agriculture.
She said it is a real opportunity for the farming community in Cavan and Monaghan.
The Minister of State appealed to farmers, cooperatives, SMEs, universities or research bodies with an idea for turning underused agricultural materials into something valuable.
Applicants will need to team up with at least one technical partner and one partner from either the public or private sector
The project runs from November 2026, through to April 2028.
The deadline for applications is the 8th of June at 5pm.
