The Cavan/Monaghan Science festival kicks off today.
This is the 6th year that the event has taken place and it is running through a hybrid format of in person and online events.
Organisers say their aim is to make science accessible and open to all ages and capabilities.

Today's family day is fully booked however, there are a number of other events which can be booked on the website.
Karen McCague one of the festival co-ordinators says it's also about getting young people interested in STEM subjects:
