A Monaghan based author says that he had to tell his story to show people what life was like in Northern Ireland during the troubles.

Bernard O'Connor was the first person in history to win a civil case for torture against the RUC.

He delves into his story in his new book 'Freeing the Truth' and tonight is having a book signing at the Crover House Hotel in Mountnugent from 7.30pm.

Bernard says while he was tortured at Castlereagh prison for 4 days it is the impacts of the psychological warfare that go largely untold:
