Three local women known as 'The Sepsis Warriors' have been initiating change and creating awareness around Sepsis.
Hannah Tormey, Catriona Flanagan and Johann Stafford have been using their voices to make people aware of the real dangers of Sepsis.
They held a Sepsis awareness support evening in Cavan yesterday evening that was very well attended. The group have reached thousands of people over the past 12 months either highlighting awareness or providing support to those who have been affected by Sepsis.
Hannah Tormey's daughter Sophie was 17 at the time when she was diagnosed with Sepsis after she became critically ill after developing what she thought was a simple kidney infection.
The local woman is encouraging people to be aware of the infection and use their voice if they have concerns.
Meanwhile, Catriona shares the signs and symptoms of Sepsis with us.
