The Stratford family from Co Cavan have been crowned Ireland's Fittest Family, after powering through the final stages. The family battled it out on the hit RTE show to be crowned this years winners and take home the coveted title and €15,000. Dad Patrick, his wife Yvonne, an occupational therapist and their sons Barry and Daniel, who are 21-year-old twins, combined to make team Stratford - coached by Donncha O'Callaghan. A dairy farmer, Patrick says his farming background came in useful in getting a good time in the course.
The highly anticipated final against the iconic backdrop of Dublin Port was televised yesterday evening at 6.30pm on RTÉ One. Barry Stratford says it was a great journey and the family are delighted to make it to the final.
